What is the best way to get rid of blackheads and minimize your pores?

Going to the beach soon... which means no make-up while on the sand, in the waves, or in the pool. My skin doesn't break out a lot, an occasional pimple here and there, but I do have blackheads on my chin and nose.

What are the best products for clearing up blackheads? Are there any out there that will clear up blackheads and minimize your pores?

Any home remedies to try, with or without the products?

I usually just wash my face with soap and water, but I've started using Noxzema salicylic acids pads and their citrus face wash. It's clearing up the two pimples I had on my chin, but if anything, I think it's making my blackheads more visible.

So, for another question (haha, sorry), do blackheads usually look worse before they get better?

I've seen the blackhead eraser by Clean and Clear on TV, does it work?

Thanks a bundle in advance! What is the best way to get rid of blackheads and minimize your pores?
washing your face with soap is bad as the soap blocks your pores.

i use clean and clear blackhead minimising cleanser. its jst a case of putting it on in the morning and at night, no need to rinse. its really good.

i also have started steaming my face once a week, and in the bath i use 'simple moisturising facial wash' which is completely soap free and minimises spots

i would give both of them products a try, they worked for me

Good Luck :DWhat is the best way to get rid of blackheads and minimize your pores?
just don't touch them nor pop them.

because once you do you get MORE.

if you leave them alone and let them

run there course they will go away in time.

trust me thats what i do and i rarely ever

get zits, pimples or anything :)

hope i helped, %26amp; good luck.
I HIGHLY recommend using Biore Pore Strips. They work incredibly well, and well worth the money.

Ug dont you hate blackheads?! I get them across my nose and on my cheeks sometimes. I have been using this stuff in a little orange bottle (but it comes in a small orange and silver box) that I got because I was getting a pimple and I have had blackheads. Its called AcneFree Terminator. Its for pimples AND blackheads! Those little strips you stick on your nose them pull off did not work for me. But this stuff is working pretty well. My pimples disappear much faster and my blackheads and starting to get smaller. I also use a blackhead scrub 3-4 times a week. If you cant find the thing im talking about just look in the face wash isle for something that clears pimples and/or blackheads and buy a cheap blackhead scrub.
Getting rid of blackheads is a difficult task. And there are many methods out there that simply don't work.

For example...

......squeezing, steaming and popping.

But here's a method that do work. It's called exfoliation. Once you start to treat it, it becomes less visible.

Exfoliation is the removal of the top layer of skin (the epidermis). And is effective for almost every type of facial skin care problem.

But here's how exfoliation can get rid of blackheads......

Blackheads form when sebum (natural oils produced by the skin) gets trapped in the skin's pores. And if these pores are partly open, then oxygen reacts with the trapped sebum, turning it black in color.

Now to remove these blackheads requires you to ';un-roof'; the heads of the clogged pores.

And guess what......

......that's exactly what exfoliation does when removing the epidermis of the skin.

And once the head of the pore is removed, the trapped sebum can be taken out via cleansers and toners.

So how do you exfoliate?

Well you can visit a doctor's office to have a chemical peel, laser peel or a microdermabrasion procedure.

But I must warn you that these procedures are expensive. In fact a chemical peel procedure can cost up to $300.

But there's a cheaper way if you're interested.

You can purchase the at-home versions of the chemical peels and/or microdermabrasion creams. These work well although you'll take a little longer to get the results your looking for.

However, once you've removed the top layer of skin (the epidermis), you'll easily get that trapped sebum out of your pores.

To minimize your pores, first start with a good cleanser. Then wipe your face with a cotton ball soaked in a toner.

This process should extract all the dirt and debris from your skin.

The cleanser and toner should contain glycolic acid that is made up of alpha-hydroxy or beta-hydroxy acids.

During the day your pores accumulate sebum (oily substance) secreted by the subcutaneous (oil) glands along with debris.

This encourages your pores to grow in size. What you'll need is an agent to dissolve the sebum and old dead skin cells.

Glycolic acid, fruit acids and salicylic acid are excellent choices.

I recommend that after cleansing and toning at night, use an acid peel pad to deep clean pores and exfoliate.

Hope this info helps, all the best:)
i just use Cleanse %26amp; Polish by Liz Earle, if you use it with the Muslin Cloth it gently exfoliates - getting rid of them and KEEPING them off unlike the blackhead clearing things because as soon as you stop using them they will come back!

Also you could do the following for a quick treatment;

~Steam face with facial steamer with a touch of Tea Tree Oil added to the water

~Buy a blackhead extractor http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/_en/_gb/cat鈥?/a>

~GENTLY push down on the skin until the blackhead 'pops'; out

~wipe off and repeat untill you are blackhed free!

also Biore Pore strips are good- check this out-http://img.makeupalley.com/1/1/0/8/67641鈥?/a> thats all the gunk that came out of one womans pores- GROSS!! but proof that they work lol

hope i helped :]
